Slidesmania
(Added 8/14/20)

I stumbled across Slidemania on Twitter. First off, this is not "Physical Education" website, but you can use many of her (Paula's) templates to create Physical Education content. From choice boards, to weekly planners, to notebooks. You're able to use her templates in both Google Slides and PowerPoint. You REALLY need to check out her website. oh, by the way, did I mention she provides the templates FOR FREE?!?!?!? Go there. NOW.

Here is a sample of something you can create with one of her templates. This is a template that I imported in PowerPoint. After a little of adjusting seem colors and sizes, I now have a background that I can use to organize my desktop. I added the Star Wars characters, but I think you get the idea.

Randy Spring Website
(added 12/23/18)

Picture
Randy is amazing. Not only does he produce tons of great Physical Education content for others to use, most of it is FREE. He has created tons of great visuals for his classes using animated GIFs. His website houses all of these that are downloadable with a simple click. He also has bunch of other ones that can be purchased through his Teachers Pay Teachers store. Do me a favor and support Randy. He is pushing the Physical Education profession forward in so many ways. Click on the link below to go to his website. Below is an example of the types of games he has on his website. LOVE IT!!!

I stumbled across the PE Project website after seeing a post on Twitter. The first thing that caught my eye was the very clean and professional graphics. Looking further I was impressed with the content they have produced. Go to their website where you can find instantly useable Physical Education content that includes lesson plans, infographics, and teaching resources. See an example below...

Sport Stacking Curriculum Guide Link
I have been teaching Sport Stacking to my students for over 15 years. It all started one day when I brought a set of cups home from a convention that had an instructional DVD. My son (who was in 2nd grade at the time) put the DVD in and taught himself. I was like "I need to be doing this in class!!!". Several years later, many schools, and three Sport Packs later, I continue to use Sport Stacking in class. Recently, Speed Stacks (The company that makes the cups) came out with a curriculum guide linking Sport Stacking to SHAPE America's standards and grade level outcomes. Now we're talking!!! Go to the link to see all the awesome resources. Stack up!!!

Cap'n Pete's Power PE Teaching Resources
(added 10/8/17)

Cap'n Pete Charrette is one of those "good guys".  You know the kind I mean. Totally dedicated to the profession, super creative, and wonderfully generous.  Pete is a Phys. Ed. teacher from Georgia (who was the 2009 GAHPERD State Elementary P. E. Teacher of the Year) who also maintains a Teachers Pay Teachers store. His creativity in creating top quality resources for Physical Education teachers is second to none. To be honest, he is the one who inspired me to develop my own store. Check out his endless list of resources (some of which are free) by clicking on the link below.

OPEn Physical Education Curriculum
(added 10/8/17)

As most of you know, based on the video below, I am a big fan of the OPEN program.  At first I was very skeptical. You mean absolutely FREE standards based units and lessons that come with visuals and assessments?  OK, what's the catch?  The thing is, there's no catch. This program is legit. It is so refreshing to find a program that is ready to use, standards based, and FREE.  Oh, by the way, did I mention it was FREE!?!? Click on the link below to sign up for a FREE account.

Vitathread Link
How do I describe Vitathread?  I'll let their website to do it:

"Vitathread is a group of dedicated teachers that have come together to share knowledge and strategies in order to simplify and improve education. We make teachers lives easier.  We have created innovative assessments called vitals that will allow teachers to measure success and take the guesswork out of teaching. We combine that with advice to help teachers leverage technology in the classroom."

Their Website it awesome!!!  I use their assessment videos all the time showing my students a "perfect" example of how to perform a skill.

(added 5/5/14)

Once again, Jarrod Robinson has put together something awesome in the world of technology and Physical Education.  With Active Globe, teachers and students can keep track of physical activity via the website (Membership is required).  Basically you set a goal of the distance you want to cover, and then enter that info either by hand or by connecting apps such as Run Keeper, Fitbit, or Moves for instant upload.  Very motivating and a great way to connect Technology, Physical Education, Geography, Mathematics, and Health with your students.  I have a goal to travel across the state of Massachusetts by the end of the school year!  (See Below)  Click on the link below to go directly to the website.

In doing a search online for Physical Education websites, I came across this site from Rick Dekeon from his school in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  What impressed me the most about his site is the number of great activities he has posted there.  There is a section on student created games (He calls it "Creators Of Activities"), Dodgeball Alternatives (You Go Rick!), and a great list of cooperatives activities.  I could (and did) spend hours looking at all his great content.  Click below to go to his website.

First off, let me say I was inspired to create Phys.Ed.Review based on Jarrod Robinson's work on The PE Geek.  Based in Australia his website is a great resource for applications that can be used in the Physical Education classroom.  His list of apps and technology ides goes back to September of 2008!  Here is a description of Jarrod (Taken from his website):

Jarrod is a Physical Education teacher from country Victoria Australia, with a passion and enthusiasm for the role emerging technologies play within teaching and learning. He is first and foremost an advocate for lifelong movement and physical activity, however realises the power of 21st century technologies that can shape new age teaching pedagogies.

Jarrod is known throughout the online community as “The PE Geek”, and authors a blog of the same name at www.thepegeek.com which has proved to be an invaluable resource for teachers seeking effective use of 21st century tools in PE.  He has presented Nationally and Internationally for a number of years while also writing for a number of publications on the topic of contemporary Physical Education.

His major interests lie within mobile learning which he believes is the perfect fit for the outdoor minded PE Teacher. As a result he has begun his own mobile development company, “The PE Geek Apps”, which builds mobile applications for teachers on both Android and iOS devices.
