THE Active Arcade
Ever since I was a kid I have loved Video Games. From my first Pong game to today's high definition graphics, Video Games have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. That being said, when looking for a new them for the 2019-2020 school year, I knew I wanted to finally take this on. One challenge: Sitting and playing video games is not physically healthy. But having students engage in active video games (Exergaming) and active games based on actual video games is. Below you will see the various categories and resources and how I intend to incorporate them into the "The Active Arcade".
(NOTE: All games referenced are rated "E" for everyone. I DO NOT believe in creating visuals and/or resources for students in elementary school that are rated any higher than "E". The ONLY exception is the Just Dance game series in which some titles are rated E-10+. Songs that have inappropriate lyrics and/or suggestive themes are simply not used.)
