Mark D. Pencil
(added 12/23/18)

Picture
I first heard of Mark D. Pencil music when I was browsing on iTunes a number of years ago. Several of his songs were perfect for the Physical Education setting. After downloading several, I've been using them in class ever since. Fast forward to this past summer. While on Twitter, I came across a video that included his music in it. When I looked at the post, it was Mark D. Pencil himself!!! The two links below go to iTunes for the music, and YouTube for the videos. Also, watch the video below to see what I'm talking about.

music for moving (preschool action songs 1 & 2)
(added 10/11/14)

One day I was browsing on the iTunes store and came across these two CDs.  The music is corny, the singing is weird...perfect for younger kids!!!  I played a couple of these songs in class and my PreSchool and Kindergarten students LOVED them.  Some of my student's favorites are:

From Action Songs 1:  Tippy Toes & Loosey Goosey

From Action Songs 2:  Moving Like The Animals & Faniculi Fanicula

Click on the link below to go to the iTunes store and check them out!!!

kidzbop cds
(added 3/2/14)

Do you want all the latest radio hits but don't want all the inappropriate lyrics?  If so, then the Kidzbop CDs are for you.  A big "Thank You" to Ben Pirillo (Check out his Vlog and videos on YouTube) for turning me onto these CDs.  I have to say that, for me, not every song is worthy of being played in my classes.  But with iTunes, I can buy just what I want.  So far I have 19 songs from 15 albums.  Great music for "kidz" aged 6-12.

Want some great heart pumping music for your classes?  If you do, get this CD!!!  Tons of great songs to get the energy up in class.  Have the students create an exercise routine to the song of their choice.  My favorite songs on the album include "We Will Rock You", "Don't Stop Believin'", and "Kernkraft 400".

catch a brain wave fitness fun
(added 11/28/13)

Picture
I bought this CD a few years ago and still use it because it has some really great follow along songs.  Here is a description of the album from the KIMBOED website:

"Energizing Movements to Stimulate Brain Development. Developed with Carol Ann Erickson, Brain Gym Instructor; Educational Consultant: Dr. Pam Schiller. Catch a Brain Wave Fitness Fun is a tool for engaging children in healthy living and daily exercise. Daily exercise is a must for children to build healthier bodies and stimulate brain development. These intentionally designed movements can help kids gain the important benefits of increased fitness and greater learning power. It’s used as an effective teaching method for turning physical activity into energizing singing and dancing."  Highly recommended!!!

Songs for a Healthier America
(added 10/3/13)

Want some free music?  Yes, I said free.  Go to iTunes and search for "Songs For A Healthier America".  You can download this entire album with songs like "U R What You Eat", "Pass The Rock (Basketball Song)", and "Wanna Jump (Let's Move)".  Songs have a positive message and, best of all, it's free!!!  Great for Phys. Ed. classes using it as background music for activities.

Another great CD from the Learning Station.  This one is my second favorite (My favorite is listed below). greg & steve CDs
(added 9/4/13)

Picture
Greg & Steve have been putting out music for decades.  I use their songs in class as warmups and movement awareness activities.  They have quite an extensive list of CDs for students in grades PreK-2nd grade.  My favorite songs include "Bop Till You Drop", "An Adventure In Space", and "The Freeze".  Some of their albums are available on iTunes.  Go to their website by clicking on the button below.

coach jj
(added 7/18/13)

Picture
What you see to your left is one of many CDs Coach JJ has produced.  The one you see here is my favorite:  "Be A Sport" Volume 5.  This CD has several tracks that you can use to challenge students with skills like basketball dribbling, soccer dribbling, and volleyball skills.  Have students get their personal space with their equipment, play the track, and Coach JJ does the rest.  Highly recommended.

AOL internet Radio
(added 7/1/13)

Picture
First off, this is an app from the iTunes app store that you can download for free.  Connect your iPod/iPad up to a Bluetooth receiver and select the type of music you'd like to hear.  Great variety similar to Pandora Radio (See below).  I like this one better than Pandora.  No reason, just like it better!!! :)

Judy & David's JiggiJump
(added 2/20/13)

Picture
Stumbled across this when looking for music for my classes on the iTunes store.  "The CD contains 18 songs woven into 6 adventures (55 minutes total). Whether it's a wild jumping kangaroo party in Australia or an exciting trip to the jungle, each adventure gets children up on their feet and moving to a sing-along physical program that they will love!" - From their website.  Let's move!!!  Below you will find a link to their website which includes a whole lot more.

Pandora Radio
(added 11/8/12)

Picture
Need music for your classes?  How about some great background music for stations or large group games?  Pandora radio is an internet based app (and web site) that allows you to select your own music preferences.  All the songs that are played are based on the first song you select.  You can even save selections for later listening.  For example:  On my "Rush" radio station there are songs from Rush, Boston, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc...  A word of caution:  Be careful of inappropriate lyrics!!!  You can skip songs if you don't want them but, from time to time, you may hear a radio ad in between selections.  Not bad for free.

Come and Play Fun & Games - C.R.S. Players
(added 11/8/12)

Picture
This CD can be found through the itunes store.  It has a few really good songs for active movement.  Songs such as "Musical Bumps", "Musical Statues", and "Simon Says" really get the kids moving.  Don't like all the songs on the CD?  Just buy what you want.  That's what I did.  For a few bucks you have movement songs you can use year after year.

"Physical Ed" by The Learning Station
(added 8/31/12)

I'm starting this first review with a CD I absolutely love.  I bought this CD when it came out and I've used it over and over again in class.  My kids love the songs and it has a nice mix of general movement songs in addition to specific skill activities.  The songs are designed for students in grades K-3.
